Bobby Ray Floyd

Bobby Ray Floyd, 74, of Lovingston, died Friday, May 28, 2010, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.

Born April 11, 1936, in Lovingston, he was a son of the late Mirt Charles Floyd and Laura Ashley Floyd.

Bobby was an active and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years and was a member of the Calvary Men's Choir. He served his community through his many hours of service as a volunteer firefighter and member of the Board of Directors for the Lovingston Volunteer Fire Department. Bobby also managed and operated M.C. Floyd and Son until 1985 and went on to retire from the University of Virginia after 16 years of service.


A funeral service was held on Monday, May 31, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church in Lovingston, with officiants Rev. Donald Harvey and the Rev. John P. Campbell.
