THIS IS A VOLUNTEER POSITION -- THERE IS NO COMPENSATION FOR THE POSITION!!!
Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
Required to serve a six (6) month probationary period, unless they transfer from Associate or are a transfer member from another station. Associate or are a transfer member from another station. Transfer members will serve a three (3) month probationary period with proper documentation from their last agency.
Recommended to obtain Fire Attack Essentials or better within two (2) years, or when made available.
Will have a voice on the floor at all Department meetings.
After completion of any and all required probationary period, will be eligible to vote on all Department business.
Will observe all rules, regulations, and procedures established by this Department; failure to do so shall result in disciplinary action as outlined in this document and Department policies.
Required to attend six (6) of the Business Meetings and/or Training Meetings, and give 100 hours of documented service time per year.
Required to submit to a criminal background check.
JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP
THIS IS A VOLUNTEER POSITION -- THERE IS NO COMPENSATION FOR THE POSITION!!!
Must be fourteen (14) years of age.
Junior members 14-16 years of age must be supervised by a senior member while in the firehouse.
Junior members 14-16 cannot participate in any emergency responses and will not be allowed to fill seats in apparatus unless in a special function; i.e., parades, funerals, etc.
Junior members 16-18 years of age will be allowed to enter a structure once they have obtained Firefighter I certification through VDFP.
Must be in good standing within their school and maintain a C average.
Will have a voice on the floor at all Department meetings.
Will observe all rules, regulations, and procedures established by this Department; failure to do so shall result in disciplinary action.
Required to attend six (6) of the Business Meetings and/or Training Meetings.
Will have a vote in all Department business; with the exception of Election of Line Officers.
Parent or guardian shall have final say with regards to activity of the member in the department.
Years of service as a Junior Member will count towards Life Membership.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP THIS IS A VOLUNTEER POSITION -- THERE IS NO COMPENSATION FOR THE POSITION!!!
Active Associate
Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
